We all know the story of the great Exodus of how GOD led HIS children out of Egypt. In our haste to get to the splitting of the Red Sea we sometimes miss the best part of the story. Exodus 14:13 & 14 “Moses said unto the people, Fear not, stand still and see the salvation of the LORD, which HE will show you today: for the Egyptians who you have seen today, you will never see them again. The LORD shall fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.”
In this scripture we see one of GOD’s most memorable miracles
and in this case we are told not fear the miracle they are about to behold and this is the salvation of the LORD. In the song of Moses found in Exodus 15 the people sing “The LORD is my strength and my song; HE has become my salvation.” Then the story moves on to the Ten Commandments they end with Moses telling the people “Do not be afraid. GOD has come to test you, so that the fear of GOD will be with you to keep you from sinning.”
There is a healthy fear of GOD that does keep us from sinning.
Without that fear our walk with GOD never goes to the level GOD wants or intended. I encourage all of us to stop and consider carefully how healthy is our fear of the LORD. Speaking for myself I am trying to work on this aspect every day. We would love your input on this subject.
GOD BLESS we will talk tomorrow.
